Benefit Brow Zings Kit-Review

Hi Everyone

Back again with another review and today it’s all about the Benefit Brow Zings kit.

I’ve always been a fan of using either a brow creme-gel or pencil for filling in my brows. I sometimes use my brown eyeshadows for filling them in but it never lasts as long as a creme based brow product they also look a lot more unnatural on me in my opinion, But after using this brow kit duo on myself for a while now it’s given me a second option on powder products.
Benefit Brow Zings comes with a darker shade wax, a lighter powder, a mini tweezer, a mini hard angled brush and a blending brush. The wax is quite thick and heavy which you apply as a base for the powder to ‘stick’ on to. I find that using just a small amount of the wax is perfect as too much on the brush may leave you with a clumpy mess especially if your brows are naturally thick. If this is the case, I would just use the wax to outline the brows and blend them out a small bit so as to not look so stark.
The powder, is amazing!!! I love it!! It’s a good match with my current hair color and I find it smooth, pigmented and really easy to apply. The angledbrush can actually do the blending itself but I love that they included a separate blending brush in the kit because it does the job much faster and more efficiently leaving you with your brows looking ‘on fleek’ I also like the inclusion of mini tweezers for easy stray-hair emergencies. Its really cute sized and fits nicely into my makeup bag so i can carry it around with me if need be.

I didn’t find any faults with this product. I found it quite easy to shape my brows evenly. I think it has to do with the mini angled brush I just love it. It’s really easy to use and a perfect size!

The overall finish?

I found it left my brows looking natural and nicely defined compared to using some pencils or gel-cremes that tend to look too defined, depending on application. The downside of using some brow powders is longevity – it can easily be erased or wiped off which is where the wax part of this brow kit comes in to solve that issue. I found that the product really lasted well and touch ups throughout the day were not needed which is always a good thing in my opinion.

All in all, this all-in-one kit is a good piece of investment for those serious about their brows. I would highly recommend this product. It retails at about €35 and can be bought online

Starbucks Iced Latte!

Hi Everyone
I hope you’re all enjoying your summer holidays so far! I’ve partially being enjoying the gorgeous weather we’ve been having here in Dublin the past few weeks although this week looks like we’ll be back to rain soon!

To keep the summer vibes going I thought I’d do a post on my favourite summer drink this year. Recently I’ve switched up my Starbucks order which would normally be a Caramel Latte, Caramel Frappachino or the odd time a Classic Hot Chocolate but so far this summer I have been loving the Starbucks Iced Latte!!!

I normally get mine with just the normal coffee blend but yesterday I tried the Kenya blend. I’ve tried this blend in other coffees before but for me I always find it a bit too strong. I prefer the normal coffee blend but for those of you who prefer a stronger tasting coffee I would defiantly recommend you give the Kenya blend a go!!
Let me know what summer drinks your loving this year and give me some ideas of what to try next!

My Trip to Zante, Greece

Hi everyone hope your all having a lovely week! Since it’s almost the weekend and it’s also approaching that time of year when we all book our summer holidays, I thought I might share with you all about my trip to Zakynthos, Greece.

In July 2014 myself and 2 friends set off for a weeks holiday to the beautiful island Zakynthos in Greece. There was a 2 hour time difference in Greece so they were 2 hours ahead of Irish time. We arrived late on a Tuesday evening around 8pm Greece time which wasn’t to bad. We were staying in a town called Kalamki. Which turned out to be only 5 minutes away from the airport, which is great for anyone who doesn’t like sitting on buses for hours traveling to accommodation. When we landed in Zante there was a coach there waiting to pick us up. We had booked the holiday in a package through a travel agency as it was our first time travelling away from home by ourselves so just so everything was secure for us we got a package deal which included flights, accommodation and transfers.

When we got to the hotel which as I mentioned was only about 5 mins from the airport, we were welcomed by very friendly reception staff. They showed us to our room and we settled in just fine. We stayed in appartments called the Ionian Blue and they were just beautiful. It was a very small complex with a small pool but was just a few minutes walk to the beach and the strip.

As Zante is a small island and would only take about an hour or so to travel from top to bottom it also has gorgeous mountainous areas surrounding it. As we looked out on our balcony we could see the mountains as well as airplanes as was close to the airport where we stayed. Throughout our stay we relaxed by the pool, took many trips to the beach and the town, and ate in many different restraunts.

As we booked a package deal we also had a rep at our hotel who was extremely helpful. He recommended to do some of the tours while we were there. One of the days we booked with our rep a trip to the waterpark on the island. We had a bus pick us up at 10am and bring us to the waterpark it was about a 25 min drive to the waterpark which really wasn’t bad as it felt like less. We spent the day at the waterpark, enjoyed some lunch in the restraunt in the park and also got a fish pedicure. It was a really great day from start to finish. The bus picked us up at about 4 to bring us back to the appartments. There was loads of water slides and suited all ages.

As our rep had recommended to do some tours we decided to do the turtle spotting tour out to turtle island for the day. The bus picked us up at 9am and we were brought down to a town called Agassi where we got on a boat for the day. We set off on the boat at around 10am and went out around the beautiful turquoise oceans of Zakynthos. We seen the stunning coves and caves on the island as we were on the boat. We stopped at a certain point in the sea and stayed really quite to see if we could see any turtles. We were successful and got to see some which was really a great sighting. After that we set off again and got to stop of at a cove which has crystal clear waters and beautiful sand. We got to jump off the boat and stay at the sand or swim for about 20 mins. After we set off again taking pictures off all the coves and the gorgeous scenes of the island. Before we headed back to the port we could get back into the sea if we wished. The tour lasted about 6 hours and in my opinion was a bit too long. We got back to the appartments at about 4:30 that evening. It was really a great trip though.

The week went by so quickly and I would have loved to have stayed longer. As we went in the middle of July the heat was unreal. Everyday reached about 34 degrees Celsius. While we were the night life in Zante seemed to be great. We spent most our time in Kalamki but headed into laganas a few times which is know for partying. It was €7 in a taxi from Kalamki to laganas as taxis in Greece have set prices so there in a sign at the taxi rank stating the price to each town. Which is so handy. Laganas certainly is the party place of the island from morning to night with some nightclubs staying open until 9am !!!! We had a great night in laganas and went into as many bars and clubs as we could. Food and drink in Zante is really reasonable with some restraunts giving a free drink with each meak. Most main courses ranged about €8/€9 in each restraunt which I thought was brilliant.

I really enjoyed my time on the island and I would definitely recommend Zakynthos to anyone. There is just some much to do during the day and such a great nightlife. It really was a brilliant holiday and I certainly will be returning in the future!!

If any of you guys have gone or are thinking of going let me know i would love to hear!

My Favourite GOSH Products!

Hello Everyone!

Today I’m going to be reviewing some products from the brand that is GOSH.  This beauty brand is well known for its innovative, trendy and cost effective make-up goodies that are great for all skin types. I’ve used some gosh products for a good while now so here are just some of my favourite Beauty Products to use From the GOSH Cosmetics range!
1. GOSH Primer Plus + Hydration

Gosh primer
This primer from GOSH offers an affordable price point and excellent quality for all. The product was designed to help ladies create that porcelain perfect skin look and assists with blurring and softening out fine lines (thanks to the anti-aging properties of snow algae). The product has a great consistency and goes on like a lotion to hydrate the skin while also creating a great canvas for make-up. I didn’t experience any dry spots or smudging while using this product and it helped keep my makeup on and looking much fresher for longer. I sometimes suffer from dry skin and I just loved how this product felt on my skin.
2. GOSH Defining Brow Gel in grey brown

Gosh Brow gel

This product allows you to create statement brows with ease. Having gel and colour combined in one product is brilliant and I loved how easy it is to apply. I tested the brown gel because that’s the colour that suits me best but it is also available in black and transparent. When applying this product  make sure you have a steady hand and work as carefully as you would with a brow pencil or powder.
3. Gosh Matt Duo Eyeshadow

Gosh eye shadow

These matt duo eyeshadows come in six different colour palate combinations. The colours have been carefully paired together to create a unique combination of colours. The shadow goes on easily and blends really well. The colours offer a great, vivid pigment and you won’t need more than a swipe or two with a brush or your finger to create that stunning  look your looking for.
4. GOSH Smokey Eyeliner

  Gosh Eyeliner
If you’re a big fan of the smokey eye then this is going to be your best friend. The pencil is soft and super easy to smudge. It comes in brown, plum, black and blue and is perfect for creating a sexy and sultry smoky look. I used the black pencil and loved how easy it is to apply and the pigment. The pencil itself is so soft you need to be careful how much product you apply (Nobody wants Panda eyes!)Once you’ve created your line then simply use the handy sponge at the back of the pencil to smudge away and create the prefect smoky eye look for any occasion!
5. GOSH No Limit Lash Mascara

Gosh Mascara
This mascara gives you a fabulous volume and has a flexible brush to reach those difficult to reach corner lashes. I loved creating clump-free volume packed lashes with this mascara and I loved how it lasted long with only 1 touch up throughout the day!

I hope you all find this helpful and if you try any of the products please let me know!

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water-Review

HappyThursday!!

Halfway through the week nearly time for my favourite time of the week.. the weekend!!! 🙂

Today I thought I’d do a review on the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water because it is currently one of my favourite products to use. It is a super efficient and gentle way to cleanse, remove makeup, soothe the feel of skin and hydrate in just one step!Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water contains micelles which act like magnets, gently lifting away makeup and impurities from the skin, without the need to rub or rinse. It leaves the skin feeling beautifully cleansed and refreshed. The formula is suitable for the face, eye area and lips, has no perfume and comes in a generous 400ml size with a smaller travel size bottle also available to purchase.

I use this all the time to take off my makeup. I have really sensitive skin so I’m always a bit hesitant as to trying new products but I have been using this product in my face almost every day for almost a year now and I love it. It doesn’t dry up the skin and hasn’t cause any acne or redness on my face which is really fantastic. I highly recommend this product and it is available in most pharmacies. Also in some penny’s(primark) shops in Dublin which is where I get mine they have a good selection of this product and it’s even under €5 to buy. I can’t remember the exact price but it’s around €4.50 which is brilliant. The bottle states you get 200 uses out of it which in my opinion you really do get value for money.

I would highly recommend this product to any beauty lovers out there because you’ll really fall in love with it and won’t be without it again.

If anyone tries it let me know what you think,

Dove Derma Spa Summer Revived Body Lotion -Review

Hello Everyone!!I recently picked up the Dove Derma Spa Summer Revived Body Lotion to get myself in the summer mood with a nice summer glow and I have to say I am loving it. I have always used the Dove Summer Glow Nourishing Lotion which has a gradual tanner in it and works wonders to give you a fresh sun-kissed look without any hassle. As far as I know the dove Derma spa is basically the same as the summer glow just with new packaging which is fab I think the gold packaging really gives it a spa look to it and makes it look fancier. I’ve been using it for quite a while now and I see no difference between them maybe just the smell of the lotion is a bit different.

For those of you who may not know Summer Revived is Dove’s first spa-like body lotion combining natural, gentle tanners with Surface Cell-Moisturisers. This self-tanning lotion treats you with a daily dose of summer for a healthy-looking bronze glow. Its available for light to medium skin and also in medium to dark skin which is the one I use as I find it works best for me. I use this product after every time I shower, applying onto clean, towel dried skin.

Self tanners can be tricky for fair skin types, so it’s really great the fact they created two versions of Derma spa; one for light-to-medium skin types and one for medium-to-dark skin so you can slowly build up your tan. I like that this version now comes in a squeeze tube instead of the shampoo-type of bottle it used to be in(summer glow). It makes applying the product in my option a lot easier as it’s easier to get it out of the bottle and control the amount your using.Even though summer only comes once a year, this is the perfect self tanner to prolong that sun kissed skin and have a summer glow all year round.

This product retails at €9.99 and is available at Boots and other phamacies and supermarkets nation wide.

Pippa Palette-Review

Hi Everyone,
So here’s a makeup palette review!
As most of you may know summer of 2015 saw the launch of another new palette onto the market, Irish model Pippa O’Connor, teamed up with the company known as Blank Canvas Cosmetics and They have created a stunning eye and face palette that has really been successful throughout the beauty market. I am a huge fan of pippa and always have been. I’ve been wanting to get my hands on this palette for months and was lucky enough to be gifted it for Christmas just gone. Ever since I opened the wrapping paper I’ve been using this pallete so much. I’m just so in love with it!!

The palette contains 6 matte eyeshadows, a highlighter, a blush and a bronzer. All the shades are pretty natural and not to dramatic but it’s a prefect palette that can be used for a natural daytime look or can switch things up to a stunning night time look. I feel that like many eyeshadows pigmentation of each varys from colour to colour. The lighter two colours lack a little on pigmentation side. I just find that the lighter colours take a while to build to reach the best it can be. I found that the colours Tobi, Susu, Dodo and Kd contain a little more pigmentation and were more noticable on the eye. I really love the colour Tobi in the palette as I find it works really well as a transition colour.

image

The blusher in this palette (Pipsy) is a matte peachy pink shade. I’m not a huge fan of blusher and I don’t wear much of it as my cheeks are quite pink to begin with but I tested this out and i found it ok, giving the cheeks just a hint of colour.

Onto the contour colour in the palette. Amour, really lovely. It is a the perfect colour for creating a naturally contoured look. I always try and avoid the orangey toned colours when getting a contour shade to suit and this shade little more ashy and suitable for what I’m always looking for.

Finally moving onto Lulu. AMAZING!!! This is 100% my favourite part from the palette. This is an absolutely beautiful highlighter that gives your cheeks the most beautiful highlighted, natural glow. I normally find it difficult getting a highlighter to show on my skin, but this really shows up so well and you don’t need much on your brush at all. I feel that all makeup lovers need this Lulu highlighter in their lives. Now that I have it I wouldn’t be without it.

The pippa palette retails at around €34.99! Some people may find it a bit pricey but all I can say is that it is definitely worth the money. From eyeshadow, a blusher, highlighter and a contour colour it’s a must have for any makeup lovers out there. I use mine all the time and I am dreading the day it runs out. No doubt I will purchase another!

Here is a look I created using all of the pippa pallete for NYE 2015!
Also used:
Foundation is rimmal 25hr lasting finish shade 201
Brows Inglot brow gel no.69
Liner is Mac Blacktrack
Lips is Inglot matte lipstick shade 404
Mascara NYC high definition

What do you guys think? Let me know your thoughts on the palette!

My Tanning Routine

image

Hi Everyone!!

So all of us girls would know that having a tan makes you feel so much better, well for me anyway it does! Whether it be real or fake.A lot of people always ask my opinion on tan from what I wear to what products I like and from my experiences I wouldn’t recommend doing sunbeds (yes, I did use to do them) but I much prefer a bottle of tan and honestly I’m not sponsored to say this but I would always highly recommend Cocoa Brown 1hour Dark Mousse tan.
For me, I always use Cocoa Brown and the reasons why would be:
Its quick development!! ( 1 HOUR)
Its really natural unlike some tans that can look orange Cocoa Brown I find really natural and brown on the skin!!
Its so so easy to apply and it dries really quickly!!

image
💕✨Favourites✨💕 #cocoabrown

Before applying my tan I always shower first and I use Cocoa Brown Tough Stuff exfoliator to remove any dead skin cells from my body. I find this exfoliator really good and gentle on my skin. When I get out of the shower I dry myself off and I apply the Cocoa Brown Chocolate Whip Oil-free Moisturiser to area like hands, feet, knees, elbows, and any other dry areas. After I have applied the moisturiser I wait about 5-10 mins to apply the tan(I know that everyone has a different method but this is just how I do it and works for me.)Then using the Cocoa Brown tanning mit I apply my false tan, (you can use any tanning mit or tanning gloves to apply your tan they are available and can be purchased in Pennys (Primark) or in pharmacies). Before starting to apply the tan make sure to shake the bottle well and then squeeze out a good amount tan onto the mit, as this it is a mousse it will expand once out of the can so be careful with the amount you use. I like to start from the bottom to the top so I normally begin at my feet and work my way up, making sure to blend it in. Always be careful and keep an eye on your knees and elbows as these areas are drier and can cause the tan to stick to them which may leave you with marks. Cocoa brown gives you an instant colour, so you will be able to see exactly where you have applied product as you go along. I only use the minimum amount of tan of my face as I prefer to darken my foundation when using tan. I then wait no longer than 10 mins to get dressed as Cocoa Brown is quick drying and isn’t sticky after applying. For me I normally do my tan once a week depending on what I am doing. I always moisture my skin every second day if needed but I feel that Cocoa Brown doesn’t dry my skin out to much so I may not need to. Normally I sleep on my tan and wash off the next day or I don’t wash it off at all but that’s just me!!

Cocoa Brown is widely available and is super affordable too! I get mine in my local Pennys! If I were you girls I go out and grab a bottle if you don’t have one already!

I hope you find this helpful and any questions please just ask!!

Much Love, Ciara Xx

Me,Myself and I

imageWelcome to my blog. This is my first post and I guess before I start writing about what people really want to hear I should start off with just a little bit about myself.

I am 21 years of age currently living in Dublin where I have grown up and lived all my life so far. I have just finished my first year at college studying Event Management in which I received my QQI Level 5 Business Studies award with flying colours. Unfortunately I was not lucky enough to grab myself a place in higher eduction for this year but I am a firm believer that something will fall into place as I believe Everything Happens for a Reason!
In saying that, event management was never a first choice or had I ever thought about it until I had completed my leaving certificate in June 2014. I had never even dreamed of doing something like that but I thought to myself I might as well try it because if you don’t try you’ll never know. My dream has always been to work in the Beauty and Fashion Industry and it seems that everything I do I always seem to end back up doing something in that line. When I was 16 I started off a Modelling portfolio with an agency in Dublin but I`ve been so busy with my studies since then I didn`t have much time to really get involved with it. In 2012 I completed a Make Up course which was held in Dublin city centre during the month of august. I really enjoyed this and I was offered some modelling jobs in Make-up after this experience.
I don’t want to get boring and keep going on and on about my history but maybe in the future ill write some blog posts specifically on some of my experiences I have encountered in my life so far.I hope to be posting about Beauty, Fashion and some Lifestyle tips throughout my blog as this is all what I am most passionate about!!

Much Love, Ciara Xxx
