TanTastic Self Tan Review

Hey Everyone!

The weekend has finally arrived after what felt like a never ending week. If you’ve followed my blog for a while now you’d know I’ve done some “fake tan” related posts before and today is no different as I’m back with yet another tan to review. I love being tanned it makes me feel good as well as look good. I change my tans and try out different tans all the time because some are just too dark and some just don’t blend well at all so it’s good to try out different tans regularly to find the perfect one for you.
Recently I’ve seen so many people online including many bloggers talking about the brand Tantastic. If I’m honest I had never tried this brand before but when they got in touch with me to send me out some to try I was super excited. In the gorgeous package I was sent I recieved 2 tans from the range one a bottle of their fast drying tanning mousse in the shade dark and one bottle of their fast drying tanning lotion in the colour medium.

I have been using this tan for a couple of weeks now and I am honestly so happy with the results. I’ve tried out both and they are honestly both fabulous.

Tantastic Fast Drying Tan Mousse has a fab velvety formula that glides effortlessly onto the skin, which includes naturally hydrating Aloe Vera and Pro-Vit B5 in the formula which combine to leave the skin feeling beautifully soft and supple with a gorgeous natural looking tan. This mousse is really simple to apply with instant colour guide it glides on and blends really easily so even for people who are not so experienced with using tan this is definitely the perfect one for you.  It’s a really light and smooth textured mousse that the skin quickly absorbs. It’s fast-drying and with its  non-sticky formula leaves your skin feeling fresh and not like it’s been attacked by a bottle of tan. The mousse is naturally hydrating with Aloe Vera and Pro-Vit B5 that soothe, moisturise and condition the skin. It lasts up to 7 days and fades just as evenly as a natural tan. It’s a Dark finished colour but leaves a gorgeous natural looking tan that doesn’t look orange or too dark on the skin which I hate too see. It comes in a 150ml and is available nationwide in the likes of boots or McCabes pharmacy and also available online at

https://www.tantastic.co.uk/product/tantastic-fast-dryin-fake-tan-mousse-dark/ for the price of £17.95

The fast drying tanning lotion in the colour medium is what I use. It’s really Moisturising on the skin, the tanning lotion formula contains Isopentyldiol plus natural Aloe Vera, Vitamin E and Pro-Vitamin B5 to nourish, soothe and condition the skin. A bonous is there is No self tan smell which is amazing. It’s super simple to apply with an instant colour guide to ensure no streaks. It’s fast-drying, and is also non-sticky it’s just like a moisturiser and leaves you with a gorgeous natural loooking colour. When it says it lasts up to 7 days it’s not lying it lasts so well and fades really evenly leaving no harsh marks or streaks. This is a gorgeous tan and not only gives you a natural glow but also leaves your skin feeling super soft and moisturised. It comes in a 150ml bottle and is available nationwide in pharmacy stores such as boots and McCabes or you can purchase this online at

https://www.tantastic.co.uk/product/tantastic-fast-drying-tanning-lotion-medium/ for the price of £14.95
What’s also really great is that in each bottle there is an aplicator mitt that comes with it so it’s really handy to put your tan on straight away. I honestly am such a fan of this tan. I had never used it before until this year but I definitely will be repurchasing this tan. It not only leaves a gorgeous natural golden tan but also really hydrates the skin and is totally adorable which is great. It’s an all round 10/10 for me on this tan and is perfect for all year round use weather your looking for a winter glow or summer touch up this tan is PERFECT.

St Patrick’s Day Makeup Look

Hey Everyone,

Today I’m posting a makeup look that is perfect for St Patrick’s Day weather your heading to the parade or even working this look will suit whatever your up to, it’s simple to recreate and isn’t time consuming (by the way the flag is the right way around just my camera makes it look like it’s backwards sorry guys) let’s get straight into it…

I always start of priming my face. I always tend to use the BRYT calm serum because it works so well as a makeup primer and keeps my makeup looking great and lasts all day. I normally then do my eye makeup before putting a foundation on just because I prefer this way. I prime my eyes with MAC Paintpot in colour Painterly.  For this look I then went in with a big blending brush using a MAC green eyeshadow (sorry I’m unsure what it’s called as the name has worn off it) I worked this into the crease until I was happy with it.

Using the gorgeous new Lid Lingerie from NYX in the colour LIDLI09 (Morning Sky) I place this gently on the base of my eye and blend it in. This is really pigmented so not much is needed when putting this on your lids as it is an eye tint but is completely weightless and feels just like normal eyeshadow when on your eyes.I know I definitely will be wearing this on St Patrick’s Day. This is a gorgeous teal colour mixed with a gold shimmer.

It is also available in a gorgeous range of nude hues from soft baby pink shimmer and bronze to deep taupe shimmer and jade, each colour will give your lids an elegant flush of colour. These are available in pharmacies nationwide and are definitely worth having in your makeup box. Once my eyeshadow is complete I then go in with the Catrice Gel Liner in black to give myself a nice winged liner.

Moving on to the face I conceal my face using a foundation stick from Pennys(primark) I know that sounds weird but for me it works great and gives me extra coverage. I then go in with the Boujour 123 step correct foundation and blend that into my skin using a beauty blender.
I love contour and my favourite palette to use is the SOSU contour palette. I contour and conceal my face using the creams provided in the palette I then use the power in the palette to set my concealer and go over the cream contour with the powder contour just to give myself more definition.
I recently just received the NYX strobe of genius illuminating palette so I thought I’d give it a go with this look. I mostly just used the highlighter in this as I had already contoured my face before I realised I could of strobed my face with this kit instead. Anyway I used the highlighter from this palette to highlight my checkbones and down the bridge of my nose. This palette is basically like “forget everything you learnt about Contouring and embrace this new highlighting trend:strobing” This is from NYX new incredible collection of must have illuminators designed to give you everything you need to achieve today’s most sought after look. This product is fab and I can’t wait to play around with it more. It retails for €21 and is available in pharmacies nationwide.

Once my face is almost complete I then move onto eyebrows. Recently I’ve been using the Mylene Klass Eyebrow kit and it’s one of my favourites. I use the two darkest colours and then set them with the gel provided in the kit.
I then use a MAC kohl black eyeliner pencil to fill in my waterline. And then with the new NYX double stacked fiber mascara I coat my lashes in this which gives amazing results and no false eyelashes are needed. All you have to do is coat your lashes using the mascara then using the nylon lady fibres coat your lashes with this and then seal them in place with another layer of mascara…simple. This product retails for €21 and is available in pharmacies nationwide.

I then finally finish off the makeup look with a nude lipstick and top it off with a clear lipgloss and there you have it the look is complete.

You can keep it just like this or go that extra bit Irish by adding the Ireland flag to the top of you cheekbone/under eye which is what I did. I just think it’s simple and not too tacky and out there.

Be sure to check out the gorgeous new range of products available from NYX and give them a follow on twitter to keep up to date with all things makeup @NYXcosmetics
Hope you all enjoyed today’s post and have a great paddys weekend!!

Super Simple Egg Fried Rice Recipe

Hi everyone,

Today I’m back with another recipe! I really enjoy cooking so I thought why not share my recipe for Egg Fried Rice. It’s super simple and easy to make and is also really tasty.

To make this dish you will need:

-110g dried rice

-Low calorie cooking spray

-1 onion

-60g mushrooms

-2 garlic cloves

-60g peas

-1 tbsp of Worcestershire sauce or Soy sauce

-2 eggs

First off all cook the rice according to the packet instructions. I used 200ml of water and added it to a large pot with the rice and cooked it for about 15-20 minutes.
While the rice is cooking you can chop up your onion, mushrooms and garlic and place them in a large frying pan or wok to cook for about 5 minutes.

Once the rice is cooked add it to the onions, mushrooms and garlic along with some peas and your tbsp of Worcestershire or Soy sauce. I use Worcestershire sauce when making mine. Cook on a low heat.

Beat the eggs and pour over the mixture and keep cooking this on a low heat stirring occasionally for about 5/6 minutes or until the egg has set.

Your can serve this with some salad or vegetables if you wish. What I tend to do is add some chicken or beef pieces to mine and sometimes a little bit of curry sauce to pour over the top!

I hope you enjoy this recipe let me know if you try it out. If you have any suggestions on what you might like to see me write about next please feel free to let me know!

February Favourites

Hi everyone,
I cannot believe it’s already March! Where is the time going? Im just so glad spring is here and the evenings are brighter as summer is fast approaching.
Today i thought I’d do a ‘February Favourites’ post and give you a list of a few things I was loving throughout February.

Starting off with one of my all time favourite makeup palettes. This palette has been around for quite a while now but it’s still one of my faves. It’s the Naked On the run Palette. I first bought this 2 years ago and recently bought another one because I had used up pretty much all the products in the first one. I bought mine for €44 in House of Fraser. I simply love this palette because there is basically all you need in it to create the perfect day or night time look. It’s a great size for travelling and saves having to bring lots of different products as this has everything packed in one. It contains a blusher, bronzer, highlighter, 5 eye shadows, a mascara, eyeliner pencil and a lipgloss. I use this palette so much and especially when travelling it’s so handy to bring it also has a great sized mirror to achieve that perfect smokey eye.

Next is my sosu contour palette. I bought this contour palette simply because I had heard so much good things about it so I thought I’d give it a try. I bought mine for €29.99 in McCabes pharmacy. I literally love it so much it’s so handy to bring with me in my bag and it gives a great colour to the skin. I find this is really long lasting on the skin and doesn’t smudge or fade throughout the day/night. It’s super simple to blend as it’s such a nice creamy product and with the setting powder included it’s definitely great value for much. Also in the contour kit is a highlighter so for the price you get a contour shade, a highlighter, concealer and setting powder. I wouldn’t be without this palette.

I always use a primer before applying my makeup. For a couple of months now I have been using the BRYT calm serum as a primer because it just sits so well on my skin. It keeps my makeup in place and also gives my skins a gorgeous, soft, fresh feeling. I use it so much I’m onto my second bottle because I just don’t want to run of it. It’s a must have. I stock up on my calm serum from McCabes pharmacy and it costs €24.50 for a 30ml bottle. My first bottle lasted me almost 4 months and that’s with applying makeup almost everyday.

As some of you may know I am a #coconutqueen for coconutlane. They sell a range of beautiful products from phone cases to wall art, everything is so pretty and some is even marble which is one of my favourite designs. I recently got a notebook and phone case from their website and I’m literally obsessed. If you haven’t already check out their website http://www.coconut-lane.com and also you can receive a 20% discount at the checkout by using my code ciaraglynn20

Last but by no means least is the silk miracle essence from Kathleen UK. I have recently started using this every night before going to bed after I have taken off my makeup. I apply 2-3 pumps to my skin and work it from the top of my head right down to my neck. It leaves my skin feeling so fresh and soft the next morning. It gives my skin a nice fresh glow to it and also smells amazing. It’s currently available on the website http://www.kathleennatural.co.uk at the price of £58.80 for a 100ml bottle.

That’s just a few of my February favourites I hope you all enjoyed today’s post and let me know what products your currently loving!!

Much Love,
