If your not aware already all this week from September 11th – 16th 2017 is Eczema Awareness Week.
Do you suffer from eczema?
Whether you do suffer with it or not I’m hoping this post will give you all a little bit more of an insight into what eczema is. Personally I do not suffer with eczema but I do know people who do.
Basically Eczema is a general term used for a group of skin conditions that cause dry, itchy, scaly, and red skin. Unfortunately there is no cure for eczema but it is manageable to reduce the severeness of all of the above conditions. Would you believe that here in Ireland eczema affects 1 in 12 adults and 1 in 5 children also. One of the most important things with eczema is to keep your skin hydrated and also moisturising your skin to prevent it from drying out. Emollients are great for this.
How to identify eczema?
Eczema can be identified as areas of your skin will become very dry, itchy and also there may be some inflamed red patches but it’s nothing to worry about as this condition is controllable.
If some of you are familiar with the brand Uriage then you may have heard of their new range, if not that’s what I’m going to tell you about today. YIPPEEEE!!
The Uriage Dermatological ranges are formulated with unique patented ingredient complexes developed for specific skin conditions. The new Uriage range is called URIAGE XEMOSE. This Uriage Xemose range has 3 patented ingredients that help against Exzema.
* The first ingredient is Chronoxine: this is an anti-inflammatory meaning it will help reduce/prevent and inflammation of the skin.
* The second ingredient is Cerasterol-2F Technology: this combines fatty acids like omega 3 and 6 to give a nourishing and soothing effect to the skin meaning any itchiness or redness will be reduced.
* The third ingredient is TRL 2 Regulator: this helps to regulate the innate immune barrier meaning it reduces the appearance of dry and scaly skin.
Uriage Xemose is a treatment for anyone who may suffer from eczema or any other skin irritations. As I have mentioned I do not suffer from eczema but I do suffer from dry skin. I have been using the Uriage Xemose Lipid-Replenishing Anti-Irritation Cerat for a couple of weeks now and it definitely has helped the dryness in my skin especially around my nose which is where I suffer most. For anyone that suffers with eczema or any other skin conditions this product will definitely help you out. It reduces itchiness, redness and dryness and gives a really nice soothing effect to the skin. I really love it. It can be used on your face and also body so any dry skin patches for example elbows it will really help reduce it. Especially for those suffering with eczema I’m sure this product will become part of your daily routine once you try it out. It really does give instant and long lasting comfort which is what you want in a product like this. It is available in pharmacies nationwide and costs €19.50 for a 200ml tub. I do know McCabes is definitely a stockist as I have previously bought products from this brand in there before.
Another product that’s not from the Xemose range but is a huge part of the Uriage collection which I feel you guys will also love this product is the Uriage Thermale water. I absolutely love this I have mini bottles of this which come in so handy for travelling and also have a full big bottle which is perfect to fit on your bathroom shelf.
The Uriage thermale water also helps to treat eczema along with burns and other skin conditions. It soothes sensitive, helps strengthen the skins hydrolipidic film and restores the cutaneous barrier in the skin. I love spraying this on my face especially when my skin feels irritated after removing makeup it instantly gives a soothing and fresh feel to my skin. This bottle can be bought in a 50ml, 150ml and 300ml versions and is also available in pharmacies nationwide( again I have picked this up in McCabes before) the prices start at €5 for the 50ml bottle, €9.50 for the 150ml bottle and €14.50 for the 300ml bottle.
I would definitely recommend the Uriage range it’s one of my favourite skincare brands to use. If any of you have tried out this brand or either of these products before do let me know in the comments or send me a message if you’ve anymore questions?
